Hurricane Rita seems so surreal after living thru Hurricane Katrina. Mother Nature is reminding us that we are only a little over half way thru the 2005 Hurricane Season. Our top scientists at NASA's meteorological center and the top meteorologists at NOAA had foreseen an intense Hurricane Season in 2005. Why do they have to always be right? Can't we please get a break from these wicked Hurricane Seasons? The answer this year is "NO" there will be no breaks in 2005 and now we understand that the weather scientists are saying that 2006 will be similar to this year's Hurricane. As if 2004 was not enough to shake our reality and perception of safety, we are watching in disbelief as 2005 takes its toll on our Federal Budget and personal psyche. How can it get any worse and now they are talking about 2006 season and telling us they are running out of names for the 2005 Hurricane Season? Hurricane Rita like Hurricane Katrina has reached Cat Five. There has not been two Category Five Hurricanes in the Atlantic Basin since 1928? Galveston is straight ahead of this Category Five and she is a very upset Red Head ready to ravage and rip into our reality, but in Galveston they take Hurricanes seriously in 1900 they suffered unfathomable losses with over 6000 deaths, although some estimate 12,000 from Hurricane which was expected to not be as bad. The Revenge of 1900 is Hurricane Rita a Category Five and has made the fifth biggest Hurricane in US History with a low pressure center of 904 mb and 165 mph. On that list of the top five ever Hurricanes is also Hurricane Katrina and this gives us some idea of what we are up against, as many retreat into prayer and others stare in disbelief on the TV; asking themselves how can this happen again. Meanwhile weather forecasters are saying how can it not happen again? Think on it. |
